Business Strategy
Where to compete, what to decline, and in what order.
Grupo Weno · International Advisory
We advise boards, investors and governments on decisions that are expensive to reverse — and remain accountable through execution.
Who we are
Grupo Weno advises organizations through the decisions that set direction for the following decade: where to compete, which markets to enter, what to build, and what to decline. We work with multinational corporations, investors, government bodies, luxury houses and companies growing quickly enough that the next decision matters more than the last.
Engagements are led by the people who sell them. We work with a limited number of clients at any time, most of whom we have advised for years, and we remain engaged through delivery rather than handing over at the recommendation.
More about the firmCapabilities
Most of our work draws on several of these at once. They are separated here for clarity, not because they are sold apart.
Where to compete, what to decline, and in what order.
Demand built as architecture, not as campaigns.
Identity that holds its value under scrutiny.
Independent reads on markets you may already have decided to enter.
Entry designed around the second year, not the first.
Sourcing treated as a strategic function.
Advice we remain accountable for.
Industries
We take engagements where regulatory exposure, distribution structure or brand value make the decision genuinely difficult.
Global reach
We work in English and Spanish, across jurisdictions with materially different regulatory and commercial conventions. That literacy is the point of a firm of our size.
Process
The sequence rarely changes. What changes is how long each stage takes and how much of it we do alongside your team.
We establish what is actually being decided, who decides it, and what evidence would change the answer.
Independent analysis of the market, the competition, the economics, and the internal capacity to execute.
A defined position and sequence, with the trade-offs stated plainly enough to be argued with.
Governance, milestones and operating cadence. We remain in the room while the work is delivered.
Measurement against the original thesis, and revision wherever the market disagrees with it.
Why Weno
We compete on judgement and follow-through rather than on scale. The differences below are the ones clients cite when they renew.
The quality of an engagement is decided in its details. We review our own work adversarially before any of it reaches a client.
The people you meet are the people who do the work. We do not staff engagements with juniors and bill them as experience.
Most of our work is with organizations we have advised for years. That horizon changes what we are willing to recommend.
We do not publish client names, logos or case studies. You should assume the same treatment of your own engagement.
Work across North America, Latin America and Europe, in English and Spanish, with the regulatory literacy that requires.
We are retained through delivery. Strategy that is handed over at the recommendation stage is rarely strategy at all.
Insights
Occasional notes on the problems we are asked about most often. Published when there is something to say.
Most expansion research is commissioned to ratify a choice that has already been made. The tell is in the scope, not the findings.
Luxury houses are copied for their design language and misread on the thing that actually protects margin: where they refuse to be sold.
Where the function sits on the organizational chart determines whether it can create value or only defend cost. Most groups have answered this by accident.
Tell us what is being decided and by when. We will tell you plainly whether we are the right firm for it.
